Branch Non-Talent Talent Show

Our youth decided that it would be fun to host a "Non-talent Talent Show".  We'll we were all for that. Elder Webster and I have many talents, so sad, none that could be called culturally refined. So we were excited about the prospects of being able to share a non-talent.  Our idea ; ) "Elder Short".  Surprisingly no one here has ever seen a Mr Short presentation, let alone an Elder Short.  It was a hit, we had such fun sharing our presentation.   There was a great many talents and non-talents shared, as well as a good number of visitors some of which even participated.  It was WONDERFUL and fun.  Of course a pot luck dinner followed with good conversation and fellowshipping.

Arthur playing the drums and singing to his sweetheart
Robin and Roweena singing a cowboy love song
Alejandro showing us a bit of rap music
Galvin & Pauline dressed for the 50's and crooning to each other

Elder Usenov kicking a ball and tying his tie ; )
Elder Perry performing a piano #
Liz sang" The Lords Prayer"
This was the firs we've heard Liz sing.  She has had health issues that have prevented her from doing so.  What a wonderful thing for her to be able to share her gift this night. It was lovely!

Chapel of Ease

There are days when the thought of taking it easy, kicking back with our feet up sounds pretty darn great!  Then I'm reminded of a talk Elder Uchtdorf gave where he is talking about Nehemiah of the Old Testament:
"Our Heavenly Father seeks those who refuse to allow the trivial to hinder them in their pursuit of the eternal. He seeks those who will not allow the attraction of ease or the traps of the adversary to distract them from the work He has given them to perform. He seeks those whose actions conform to their words—those who say with conviction, “I am doing a great work and cannot come down.”
Best we get back to WORK  ; )  (check out the cute red mail box....)

Sacred Moments

Avery was baptized in June 2011
Cousins joined at the hip ; )
Hailey was baptized in July 2011
Cousins supporting cousins!
Ethan speaking on baptism, it was great!
I hadn't realized how grown up Ethan was until that day.

Samuel spoke on the Holy Ghost, you would have thought he was a missionary!

Henry baptized April 2012, Bermuda Branch baptismal font.

Henry preparing to receive the Holy Ghost.
Rachel and Ruth came to support Henry on his special day.

Ethan, Emily, David, Sam, Aidan, and Henry at Jobson's Cove
When we chose to serve a mission it became obvious that we would miss important events. The top of the list were the baptisms of three of our grandchildren (Avery, Hailey, and Henry) and the birth of our sweet little Lucy last October, as well as many other treasured moments.  Then around the first of the year, Emily called saying they were coming to visit us and that Henry had something to tell us.  He then informed us that he wanted to be baptized in the Bermuda Ocean!  It was wonderful, and the Bermuda Branch were greatly supportive of our family.  We love them for that!  So we would like to share a few pictures of the event as well as Avery and Haily's special days that we missed.  Faith in serving the Lord has taught us that blessings are showered upon us when we are obedient.  That doesn't mean there are not challenges or trials, but that said we have trusted in Him that our family would be watched over, may our family know that we love them ever more by being in the mission field while these events and challenges have taken place.
